Carey Braham

Welcome to the Alexander Technique in Chichester and Littlehampton. I am an experienced teacher of individual and group lessons, working as a full time professional.

The technique can seem simple, if slow, the benefits can be extraordinary. To take control back from your habits and regain your natural poise and balance feels like a gift.  My aim is to pass on what I have learned to as many people as possible.

Find out if the Alexander Technique can help you...

  • » Prevent back, neck and shoulder pain
  • » Improve co-ordination and movement
  • » Reduce joint and muscle problems
  • » Enhance rehabilitation after injury
  • » Provide coping skills for chronic illness
  • » Alleviate breathing disorders
  • » Provide support during pregnancy
  • » Improve management of stress and related conditions

There are a number of sites and books to research the technique and I do not aim to re-create that here. You may be surprised to learn what it is not... it is not a relaxation technique but can be relaxing as well as energising; it is not posture control, albeit most people enjoy improved posture; it is not therapy - more a re-education.

It is a skill you learn, you are not ´done to´ rather you help yourself. It does not seek to cure specific ailments but addresses the whole self and relieves everyday strain and discomfort as a result. It is a means to re-educate how you use your self in everyday life, how you move, rest, breathe, talk and react.

You translate everything, whether physical, mental or spiritual into muscular tension
